We undertook the development of a 15’ x 10’ kiosk to be placed in a high traffic area within one of Atlantic Canada’s largest indoor shopping malls. Our goal was to create a kiosk that balanced functionality and aesthetics while adhering to mall guidelines.

To achieve this, we employed a design approach that integrated innovative materials and strategic layout considerations. Tapered metal wraps were utilized to provide a sleek and modern aesthetic, while ensuring durability and ease of maintenance. These wraps are designed to be replaceable, offering quick and cost-effective updates or repairs as needed, thereby maintaining the kiosk’s pristine appearance over time.

In terms of functionality, we opted for a solid surface countertop, mitigating the wear and tear often associated with laminated countertops. This decision enhances the kiosk’s longevity and contributes to a more hygienic and easy-to-clean surface, essential for a high-traffic environment like a shopping mall.

Visibility was another key consideration in the design process. We incorporated a large logo treatment and strategically placed menu boards to maximize the kiosk’s visibility from afar, attracting potential customers and increasing foot traffic. By effectively utilizing branding elements and signage, the kiosk becomes a focal point within the mall, drawing attention and generating interest in the products or services offered.

Throughout the development process, we collaborated closely with our clients at ALC to ensure that the final product aligned with their vision and objectives. Additionally, input from installers and mall staff was invaluable in refining the design and ensuring seamless integration into the mall environment. By actively involving stakeholders at every stage, we ensured that the project would be a success from its inception, delivering a kiosk that not only meets but exceeds expectations in terms of both form and function.
